Rhein (CAS 478-43-3), also known as Cassic acid or Rhubarb Yellow, is a
natural anthraquinone carboxylic acid purified from the root and rhizome of Rheum palmatum (Chinese
rhubarb) and also found in senna. ZHII’s Rhein is a yellow crystalline powder with HPLC purity ≥ 98% —
the key bioactive marker of rhubarb, studied extensively for anti-inflammatory, anti-osteoarthritis and
anti-tumor activity.
